Not even 24 hours after his passing, the New York Times decided to remind its readers of where Kirk stood on certain political issues throughout his lifetime.
The Thursday article was titled “Where Charlie Kirk Stood on Key Political Issues” and laid out his stance on things like climate change, gender, and race.
This was a classless act from the start. A man is dead. His grieving wife and children are without a husband and father.
Despite this, the newspaper tried using past comments to label him an antisemite — when in reality — he was actually quoting someone else.
They were forced to admit their horrendous mistake and issued the following correction:
“A correction was made on Sept. 11, 2025: An earlier version of this article described incorrectly an antisemitic statement that Charlie Kirk had made on an episode of his podcast. He was quoting a statement from a post on social media and went on to critique it. It was not his own statement.”
A screenshot was later posted to the social media platform X, with one user appropriately remarking, “What a correction.”
Other users were quick to respond, saying the reporter responsible for the claim should be fired.
“That reporter should be terminated and shunned by the industry,” one post read. “Either they acted with malicious dishonesty, or they’re so incompetent and lazy that they have no business writing fact-based news articles ever again.”
A third user commented on how low the standards have become for a supposedly pristine outlet.
“I guess mistakes can be made in reporting. That happens,” the user wrote. “But this is ostensibly ‘the newspaper of record’ and in wake of a timeline changing event, you’d think maybe one or two editors would have … made sure the accusations of antisemitism in their reporting was actually, idk, … true?”
“Bottom line this is what they assumed,” the post continued. “It was their baseline bias on the man and they didn’t even have the decency to check it close enough make sure it was. Bad look.”
Calling this a “bad look” or a “mistake” is too charitable.
The New York Times and other mainstream media outlets have made a point of smearing conservatives, no matter the circumstances or consequences.
Why would Kirk be any different? They are so low that they did this less than one day after his horrific murder.
The media — and the left — need to look in the mirror and reassess their lives after what happened on Wednesday, starting with the New York Times.
