Heartless Leftists Are Getting Fired Left And Right For Demonizing Charlie Kirk After Death

After Charlie Kirk’s assassination Wednesday, social media split between prayers and vitriol — with some posts sparking calls for firings and demands for accountability.

One business owner told the Daily Caller their company fielded multiple calls about remarks from a former employee, even though the person was no longer on staff when the comments were made. Matthew Hurtt, director of the Leadership Institute and ConservativeJobs.com, was among the conservatives leading the pushback. (RELATED: University Dean Fired For Saying She Had ‘ZERO Sympathy’ For Charlie Kirk)

Hurtt first zeroed in on remarks from an assistant dean of students at his alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University, who was promptly fired after posting that Kirk had “spoke his fate into existence.”

By the end of the night, Hurtt said he had “DMs from half-a-dozen or so folks with other screenshots of currently employed leftists cheering Charlie Kirk’s assassination,” vowing to pursue them the next morning. Among those flagged was Lydia Fettig, a professor and academic advisor at the University of Michigan, who allegedly called Kirk’s killing “prudent” and “rational.”

Hurtt also circulated posts allegedly from Alana B. Hartman-Hall, dean of students in Chesterfield County, and Andrew Herrmann, a professor and associate chair at Oklahoma State University, who both suggested Kirk had reaped what he sowed.

A University of Michigan spokesperson told the Caller in a statement that under its Institutional Neutrality policy, “the university does not take positions on matters not directly tied to university governance. Faculty members are free to speak and debate the issues of the day, but those individual expressions do not represent the views of the university.”

The Chesterfield County Public Schools and Oklahoma State University did not respond to the Caller’s requests for comment.

Another screenshot appears to show Kristen Eve, a pre-kindergarten teacher with the Department of Defense Education Activity, writing that while she “feels” for Kirk’s family, “I suspect we are at a point where things are going to have to get ugly, get messy, maybe even get violent, to change this dumpster fire of a country.” She added that boycotts and reminders to vote “IS NOT ENOUGH.”

“And excuse my language, but fuck the high road,” Eve continued. “I am tired of having to be the bigger person while the other side destroys the world to line the pockets of CEOs and oligarchs. Charlie Kirk recently said that he thought gun violence victims and mass shooter victims are a reasonable price to pay for the 2nd Amendment. Fuck that guy. Ironic, isn’t it?”

Hurtt also highlighted Connor Grosshanten, who, after condemning violence, allegedly wrote that “our world is a better place without people like Charlie Kirk.”

Grosshanten allegedly added that Kirk’s work was “hateful, propaganda, misinformation, and conspiracy theories” that “led to danger or death for MILLIONS of people,” and claimed his killing was “the result of political violence born from the very same extremism that he helped create.”

“We absolutely condemn violence of any kind against any person, no matter their political persuasion,” a representative for Grosshanten’s employer told the Caller. “We will address this issue directly with our part-time, remote employee, consistent with our views in this regard.”

The wave of firings has also reached beyond education and into the entertainment industry.

The Charlotte Observer reported that the Carolina Panthers fired communications coordinator Charlie Rock over a social media post that read, “Why are yall sad? Your man said it was worth it …”

The post featured a photo of Kirk paired with a reference to the Wu-Tang Clan track “Protect Ya Neck,” the spot where Kirk was fatally shot, according to the Observer.

“The views expressed by our employees are their own and do not represent those of the Carolina Panthers,” the team said in a Thursday statement. “We do not condone violence of any kind. We are taking this matter very seriously and have accordingly addressed it with the individual.”

In a separate move, DC Comics abruptly canceled its “Red Hood” spinoff on the same day the first issue was released, after transgender writer Gretchen Felker-Martin posted remarks about Kirk’s assassination, Cosmic Book News reported. (RELATED: CNN Minimizes Transgender Messaging On Ammo Linked To Charlie Kirk Murder)

“Thoughts and prayers you Nazi bitch,” Felker-Martin allegedly wrote on BlueSky, adding he “hope[s] the bullet is ok after touching Charlie Kirk.”

DC Comics said it values free expression but will not tolerate posts that appear to endorse hostility or violence, calling such comments inconsistent with company standards, according to Popverse.

Backlash also spread into the gaming industry, with boycotts launched against Drew Harrison, a senior developer at Sony-owned Sucker Punch Productions, over his online comments.

“I hope the shooter’s name is Mario so that Luigi knows his bro got his back,” Harrison allegedly wrote after sharing a post claiming Kirk “died doing what he loved: being a transphobic racist bigot.”

The comments triggered a boycott of Sucker Punch Productions as it gears up to release its highly anticipated “Ghost of Yotei” in early October. Some fans said they had already cancelled pre-orders and requested refunds.
